How to configure the personal data protection functionality in JD Edwards?

Many organizations, particularly larger ones, need functions to support personal data protection in their ERP systems. This is of special importance if the address book is used to store data not only about corporate organizations but also private individuals. In such case, access to data must be controlled and default application-level security mechanisms are not sufficient.
Not everyone is aware that JD Edwards offers a dedicated personal data protection functionality, applicable also to users authorized to access the Address Book. The solution is flexible and allows securing private data, without affecting access to directory data which should be accessible for the user.
